This Is Your Life with Ian Thorpe topped entertainment; Seven wins night and ratings week

Seven’s reboot and premiere of This Is Your Life, which debuted looking back at Ian Thorpe’s career and life as a swimmer, topped entertainment on Sunday. At the same time, the network also celebrated an overall network share win.

The program launched to 655,000 metro viewers, followed by Ten’s Hunted which aired to 550,000 metro viewers, also winning all three key advertising demos. 

In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 17 July, Seven News was the #1 program nationally across linear, with 1.409 million viewers, including 31,000 on BVOD, and uplift of 2%. The biggest uplift of the week was an episode of Mystery Road on ABC with an uplift of 42% and aired to a total audience of 694,000. Ten’s Hunted launch topped entertainment watched by 1.217 million viewers, an uplift of 42%, and a BVOD audience of 179,000.

Meanwhile, It was a close battle between Seven and Nine to see which network took the week ending 23 July. Seven just pipped Nine with a network share of 27.7% over Nine’s 27.2%, Ten finished the week on 18.3% and ABC with a 16.6% share.

Seven also won the primary channel share for the week, with a 19.1% share ahead of Nine’s 19%, and the top multi-channel for the week was 7Mate on 3.8%.

Looking back at Sunday’s ratings, next in entertainment was Joanna Lumley’s Great Cities of the World on ABC, which aired to an average metro audience of 474,000, followed by Beauty and the Geek on Nine which brought in 392,000 metro viewers.

In sports, Sunday’s AFL game aired to a metro audience of 322,000, while Sunday’s NRL game aired to an average metro audience of 216,000.

Meanwhile, Seven News was the #1 metro program on Sunday with 933,000 metro viewers followed by Nine News on Sunday with 848,000 metro viewers. Nine’s 60 Minutes pulled in 612,000 viewers, and ABC News brought in 559,000.

Seven won the night, taking an overall network share of 30.5% over Nine’s 26.8%, while Ten took an 18.1% share and the ABC had 14.8%.

Seven also won the primary channel share, and the top-rating multi-channel on Sunday was 7Mate with a share of 4.5%.
