This one’s for all the lazy staffers and dull clients
Over the last two days, Dr Mumbo has been to three different media industry events. At every one there’s been a common topic of conversation. That resignation email that went viral from MEC’s London office.
So it was perhaps little surprise that the biggest cheer of the night at the MFA Awards (well, apart from the popular John Sintras being inducted into the hall of fame) went to the acceptance speech from Mike Wilson, chairman of Naked Communications. He told the audience: “I’d like to dedicate this award to all employees worldwide of MEC.”
Indeed, Wilson made two of the best speeches of the night. Pricking the predictability of some of those who had spoken before him, he picked up another one of Naked’s trophies with the words: “It would have been much better if the team at Naked had worked harder and the client had shown a bit more imagination.”
Mike’s been working on that speech for a year.
