Ticker News to launch Singapore office

Ticker News has announced it has been granted permission to open a Singapore office.

The announcement:

The Singaporean government has granted permission for Ticker News to open a bureau in the city-state.

At a time of major instability in the Asia Pacific, Ticker News is establishing a dedicated team in the region.

Singapore will be Ticker’s first overseas bureau, with others to follow.

Ticker CEO and Founder Ahron Young says: “Singapore is the perfect location for Ticker to launch overseas. With so much news coming from the region, and with tensions high, we want to be able to access the newsmakers and bring our audience insight from on the ground.”

Over coming months, Ticker will hire journalists and producers from across the region to grow our news gathering and producing resources.

Ticker COO Jed Bertalli says: “Ticker has developed its focus on international issues impacting our audience. Singapore provides us with another major milestone as the company continues to grow.”

Earlier this year, Ticker began broadcasting from 0700 AEDT until 10pm. The company plans to extend this to a full 24/7 news operation from headquarters in Melbourne.

Ticker’s offices and studios have undergone a major revamp in preparation for the overseas growth, with a complete rebuild of the newsroom and Studio 1.

“I’m passionate about Melbourne being an international city. Our audience has grown substantially in the US and Asia, and from the Ticker Loft, we are broadcasting international stories to the world,” Ahron says.
