Todd Sampson signs with Ten for new series, BodyHack
Network Ten has lured Todd Sampson across to the network, with Ten announcing it will air his latest show BodyHack later this year.
The announcement comes as Masterchef heads into its final few episodes with the grand finale to air on Tuesday while The Bachelor will return to screens on Wednesday. Ten’s Survivor is also set to air in August.
Sampson is best known to the Australian public for his role on ABC’s advertising panel show Gruen, which he hosts alongside Network Ten executive, Russel Howcroft. Sampson has also completed two series of documentary series Redesign My Brain, which aired on the ABC and also has posts on the Qantas and Fairfax boards.
The former CEO of ad agency Leo Burnett and now non-executive chairman of the ad agency will embark on an exploration investigating some of the world’s most extraordinary people.
The show will see Sampson deconstruct and decode how these people live and what they do differently from the rest of us and how this impacts the human body.
Sampson will then “hack into their lives and try to become them”.
BodyHack features Sampson living as a hunter-gatherer in Tanzania, stepping into the ring as a professional MMA cage fighter in New Mexico and confronting his fear of open water to free dive and stride across the sea floor in Borneo.
Sampson said: “My mission was to investigate some of the most extraordinary people on the planet to see what we can learn from their lives, to better ours.
“It would be fair to say I was pushed to my absolute limit and in some cases I was lucky to get out alive. I believe we are all capable of much more than we think and this series is a celebration of that.”
BodyHack will be airing across Ten and the WIN Network.
Network Ten has also announced it will be broadcasting US drama This Is Us.
The US show follows a group of people – some of whom were born on the same day – as their paths cross and their life stories intertwine.
The cast includes: Mandy Moore (A Walk To Remember), Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes) and Sterling. K. Brown (The People V. O.J. Simpson).
Is this just a Tim Ferris ripoff?
