Torch Media renews contract with Sydney Ferries

Torch Media has renewed its contract with Sydney Ferries, keeping the transit media business as the only out of home (OOH) provider on the Sydney Harbour.

The agreement comes as Torch Media was announced the media partner of Sydney’s new light rail, which opened four months ago.

Torch Media is the exclusive media partner of Sydney Ferries

Torch Media managing director Kirsty Dollisson said the partnership with Sydney Ferries gives Torch Media’s clients access to a monthly captive audience of 1.25m passengers, including affluent professionals on their daily commute and tourists exploring Sydney by ferry.

“We’re thrilled to renew our partnership with Transdev Sydney Ferries and are excited to be working on new opportunities to further enhance the commuter journey on this much-loved iconic asset,” said Dollisson.

“The Ferries proposition is unique in delivering a harder-to-reach demographic of 25+ white collar full-time professionals, shoppers and tourists who we know are in an open mindset and are therefore more receptive to advertising messages.”

Alan Fedda, Transdev Sydney Ferries managing director, said: “It was an obvious choice to renew our alignment with Torch Media. We trust they will continue to maximise all advertising opportunities currently available while also looking at various ways in which we can innovate and future-proof our offering.

“This year we’ve seen the appetite from the market to better utilise our space in creative and innovative ways both on board our vessels and within our wharves across the network from Manly to Parramatta”.

Torch Media can offer advertisers access to 79% of Sydney public transport commuters via the Ferries and Light Rail contracts, it said.

Dollisson added: “2019 was a year in which we experienced tremendous growth as a company by growing our asset portfolio as well as our team. I’m certain that 2020 will allow us to continue to illustrate our commitment to delivering exceptional brand engagement and campaign effectiveness by utilising Transit assets.”
