TorchMedia has promoted Matthew Browne to head of Queensland sales.

The announcement:

Following the announcement that TorchMedia has been awarded contracts to manage all exterior advertising on rail across Australia’s eastern seaboard, the company has made further changes to its team in Queensland.

TorchMedia has promoted Queensland based Matthew Browne to oversee the sales function for the sunshine state. Joining Torch less than 12 months ago, Browne, a former EYE and Seven media professional will now oversee all channels in the company’s offering.

Initially joining TorchMedia to introduce the new Queensland Rail advertising formats to brands in Queensland, his new role will allow him to boost the offering with Petro-convenience, Grocery, Pharmacy and Retail as part of his portfolio.

Kirsty Dollisson, GM, TorchMedia, said this is in response to the demand in Queensland’s strong media landscape.

“Queensland has been a dominant media state in Australia for quite sometime and in order to properly service the brands up there Matthew has been appointed head of sales with our intention to expand the team in the state,” she explained.

“Ad spends out of Brisbane are on the rise meaning brands are doing well. We believe this has a lot to do with the strength of the economy in Queensland and the great mediums to work with in the state.”

This promotion is the latest sign of growth from TorchMedia on a national level, who have just celebrated their seventh consecutive year of growth since opening their doors in 2007.
