Tourism WA prepares to pitch creative account
Western Australia’s Tourism Commission, Tourism WA, is preparing to put its creative account out to tender.
The account is currently held by Cummins & Partners after the Melbourne-based agency won the three year contract from Host in 2014.
The successful agency will be responsible for marketing the state and promoting, developing and attracting major sporting, arts, cultural and business events as well as supporting major projects which will attract visitors to destinations within Western Australia.
The tender is set to officially open at the end of August.
In 2014, Stephanie Buckland, the CEO of Tourism WA at the time, said: “The State Government has a strategy to see visitor spend increase to $12 billion by 2020.
“By working with Cummins & Partners, Tourism WA will be able to achieve the marketing outcomes needed to help the tourism industry achieve the 2020 goal.”
In June, Initiative won Western Australia Government’s $60m media account joining incumbent agency Carat on the roster.
Meanwhile, Australia’s tourism body, Tourism Australia is currently pitching its creative account which was previously held by Clemenger BBDO Sydney.
