TripAdvisor launches Australian ad team

The Australian office of travel site TripAdvisor has launched a display advertising team.

The sales operation will be led by Ela Wolski, who returns to Australia from Singapore where she was TripAdvisor’s sales manager for Southeast Asian region.

Her brief is to develop and lead the expansion of client and media agency relationships within Australia and New Zealand.

Martin Verdon-Roe, vice president of display advertising EMEAA for TripAdvisor, said: “Our investment in a dedicated display advertising team shows how important the Australian market is to us and will allow us to really capitalise on the fantastic growth of our domestic and international site traffic.”

“Through Ela, we aim to build and develop new and exciting ways for advertisers to reach our audiences around the world in the most meaningful way. Our goal is to always provide a great user and advertiser experience.”

According to Comscore, TripAdvisor’s Australian portal grew 49% in unique user traffic between December 2010 to December 2011..
