Triple J fans take to Twitter as station goes silent following technical problems

Triple J fans were left suffering silence this morning after the station was hit with technical difficulties for over an hour.

The problems began at around 8am AEDT, and were addressed on the show’s Twitter page at 8.28am, citing a transmitter as the source of the problem.

The outages happened during The Preatures’ Like A Version performance, which the station has since shared on YouTube for those who missed it.

Disgruntled fans took to Twitter to express their concerns, reporting outages from Melbourne to Adelaide.

Adelaide suffered difficulties past 10am, with one listener complaining of outages across radio, Android app and desktop live stream services.

Content director Ollie Ward posted several videos to his Twitter account which revealed what was happening behind the scenes.

When breakfast hosts Ben and Liam eventually made it back on air, they apologised and admitted they were having “a slightly stressful morning”.

An ABC spokesperson said: “A technical issue led to the disruption of some ABC Radio services in Sydney shortly before 8am today. The outage affected Sydney Radio, Classic FM, triple j, RN and News Radio. ABC Radio apologises to listeners for the inconvenience.”
