TV's top 20 of Week 33: Masterchef v The Block

Masterchef’s final episode of the season, Winner Announced, was as expected, the most viewed show over the week of 7 to 13 August. The program, which was the second most viewed this year, topped by the previous week’s finale of Australia’s Got Talent (2.885m), received 2.658m viewers across all metro areas.

Second was Masterchef’s Finale Night with 2.331m. While fourth was Masterchef’s first Sunday episode at 6.30pm  with 1.8million views.

However,  Channel Nine sought revenge with The BlockRoom Winner Revealed in third place receiving 1.823m as Ten’s rival DIY show, The Renovators’ Sunday episode took 1.258m, placing it at #16 despite being sandwiched between Masterchef eps. In fact The Block had four episodes in the top ten of the week with Monday’s episode at #6 with 1.549m and Tuesday’s episode at #8 with 1.466m and Sunday episode at #10 with 1.43m.

Rounding out the top ten was both Seven (#5) and Nine’s (#7) Sunday broadcasts getting 1.6m and 1.5m respectively and Class of 2011: First Look at #10 at 1.44m.
