A most unfortunate time for Kyle & Jackie O to get sick
Dr Mumbo is concerned that the stress of renegotiating their Today Network contracts appears to have laid both Kyle Sandilands & Jackie O low today.
He understands that both of them phoned in sick this morning, leaving Angus O’Loughlin to stand in at short notice.
As O’Loughlin put it on Twitter, in what appears to have been the only communication from the network about the affair: “Just casually filling in for @kyleandjackieo by myself… Shitting myself but I did demand Kyles “Golden Microphone”:”
Curiously there was no message on the 2Day FM website, the Kyle & Jackie O Facebook page or Twitter feed about their mysterious absence despite a number of messages from fans asking what was going on.
The timing of the sudden illness is most unfortunate. What with the axing yesterday of sister station Triple M’s drive team reportedly to save Southern Cross Austereo some money to fund a new contract for Sandilands.
Dr Mumbo wishes them a swift return to wealth health.
October 11 update: Frabjous news – they’ve made a miraculous recovery and are back on air.
