Sydney, September 21, 2010– For the first time, Aussie Dailymotion fans can enjoy locally created content with the company’s launch into the Australian market with Urban Geek Media (UGM).

UGM will help Dailymotion grow its already strong local audience, create localised high-impact content and attract advertisers with innovative display and video advertising formats.

The male-skew digital specialist has added the highly popular video-sharing site to its network of client brands. As one of the leading video sites across the world, Dailymotion attracts close to 70 million visitors per month (ComScore, July 2010), with around 700 thousand Australians visiting each month (Omniture August 2010).

Urban Geek Media specialises in establishing an Australian presence for popular 18-35 male global brands, generating campaign activity, advertising sales, events, local content production and growing audience bases.

“We have a strong Aussie fan base but recognise the need to create content specific to their tastes,” said Luc Dumont, Vice President of International Development at Dailymotion. “We’ve done this very successfully internationally and look forward to working with Urban Geek Media as an absolute specialist in its field to replicate this global success locally.”

Nathan Ruff, Managing Director of Urban Geek Media said, “Content certainly is king but localised content is the absolute key to winning a loyal and engaged audience which consequently engages more favourably with advertisers. We’re excited to work with one of the most established online video brands in the world and look forward to consolidating them as one of Australia’s biggest video destinations. “
