The Urban List appoints News Corp’s Damien Rossi as general manager

Australian local lifestyle guide and content platform The Urban List, has appointed former News Corp general manager of marketing and retail sales Queensland, Damien Rossi, as general manager.

Rossi said he had been watching The Urban List’s business for several years as an “envious competitor” and “engaged user.”

He joins the six-year-old website from Queensland, where he led retail and marketing for News Corp for more than 18 months.

He also worked as group marketing director for Morgan McKinley for four years, and as category marketing manager at Nestle UK for three years.

“It’s a privilege to be charged with accelerating the growth and expansion of a company that, in five short years, has already established itself as a category leader; and I am committed to building on its reputation for exceptional content, customer solutions and culture,” Rossi said.

Founder and CEO, Susannah George, said Rossi’s appointment came at a “pivotal time” for The Urban List.

“Damien’s experience and expertise rounds out our leadership bench strength and will further the opportunities for our customers, for our content and for our team; extending our lead in the local lifestyle category,” George said.

Rossi’s appointment is the first in a series of executive and organisational changes for The Urban List.
