Usman Khawaja announced as Prime Video ambassador for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup

Prime Video has unveiled its ambassador for its ICC Men’s T20 World Cup broadcast – Australian cricket great, Usman Khawaja.

Prime Video today announced Australian cricket star Usman Khawaja as Prime Video’s official ambassador for its exclusive live broadcast of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Khawaja has a stellar international career across all formats of cricket including T20,is a top-order batter for Australia, and is the current ICC Men’s Test Cricketer of the year. Usman will provide Prime members and cricket fans with exclusive insight and analysis of the tournament on Prime Video’s social pages during key matches throughout what is set to be the largest ICC T20 World Cup to date. He’ll also star in Prime Video’s advertisement campaign which will launch nationally on 18 May.

Commencing on 1 June internationally and 2 June for Australian fans, the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will ignite as the United States hosts World Cup Cricket, for the very first time. As one of the tournament favourites, Australia aspires to become the first team to hold all three Men’s ICC trophies simultaneously, after winning the World Test Championship and ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in 2023. New and old rivalries will heat up, as the United States plays the curtain-raiser against Canada in Dallas, before the highly-anticipated India versus Pakistan match gets underway on 10 June AEST in New York. The Super Eight will start on 20 June, and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup champions of 2024 will be crowned on 30 June in Barbados. Curating a new viewing experience for Australian live sports, Prime Video will offer customers new features like an in-game language selector and “Rapid Recap.” Rapid Recap assists those who join the game in-progress and want to catch up on the action they missed before entering the livestream. Rapid Recap uses machine learning to compile big plays and exciting moments into a short two minute highlights package for Prime Video customers. While viewing the rundown, viewers can either skip or rewatch big plays within the queue and jump to live action at any time. The in-game language selector will allow our Hindi-speaking customers to switch to Hindi seamlessly without exiting the player.

Prime Video exclusively hold the live Australian broadcast rights for ICC cricket events for the next four years. Cricket fans across Australia will have exclusive access to all matches in every tournament of elite ICC competition, including the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. This is at no extra cost to a Prime membership and is available as part of new customers’ free 30-day trial.
