VCCP Business acquires PR agency Sling & Stone

VCCP Business, part of VCCP, has acquired Australian PR and communications agency Sling & Stone, which has offices in Sydney, Auckland and Los Angeles.

The deal has been confirmed by Sling & Stone founder and CEO, Vuki Vujasinovic for an undisclosed fee, and will see the agency become part of VCCP Business, and join its network of specialist agencies globally.

Sling & Stone will now work in partnership with tech agencies, Method in the North America and Harvard in the UK, as well as advocacy agency inEvidence to create a global PR and communications group.

Sling & Stone said that this will help clients shape the future of how “we live, work, and play”, growing the group’s billings to $50 million, with a 250+ global team.

As part of the agreement, Vujasinovic will remain CEO of the agency, and will be part of a new global board, which includes David Parkinson, CEO of Method, Ellie Thompson, CEO of Harvard and Robin Hamilton, MD of inEvidence, in order to drive the strategy of the group going forward.

Vujasinovic said that the agency he founded 11 years ago, now has 70 staff in its three locations, and that the deal will have no impact on current staffing number, other than that “we will continue to grow and hire”.

When asked if the move will impact S&S’ presence in LA, where Method is currently based, he said that it remains committed to investing in and growing its international operations, including LA.

With both companies being private, Vujasinovic said that the terms of the deal will remain confidential.

Jo Parker, Group CEO of VCCP Business, said: “From the moment we met Vuki and his team, we had so much in common — a challenger mindset, a global ambition and a culture of collaboration and openness. We are really excited to work with all the Slingers and to build on our shared global vision.”

Vujasinovic also said: “We’ve been partnering with innovative and important brands for more than a decade now, playing a key role in their growth. Working with these types of clients is what we’re good at, and what we love doing. I’m so happy that we’ve found the perfect growth partner in VCCP Business. We have a shared vision to focus on telling these stories that are reshaping the world around us.”

“This is the beginning of a new and exciting chapter for Sling & Stone, and we’re just getting started.”

The agency’s current client list includes Twitter, Google, Stripe, Xero, and Zip.
