VCCP shakes up leadership team naming Suzie Roberts as local MD and Scott Huebscher as ECD

VCCP has changed up its leadership team with international MD Suzie Roberts returning to Australia from London to be the local agency’s managing director.

The agency has also brought on Scott Huebscher as its executive creative director and client services director Will Frew.

Roberts’ new role comes a year after the departure of VCCP’s local CEO, Andrew Holt following a ‘mutual agreement’. At the time of his departure, Roberts took on the leadership of the Australian team. The agency confirmed to Mumbrella that a new CEO will not be appointed.

Roberts has been with VCCP for 17 years, working across the agency’s offices in London, Berlin, Madrid, Prague, San Francisco, New York and Singapore.

For Huebscher, VCCP is his fourth agency in five years. He joins after 10 months with 303 MullenLowe, and has previously worked at BMF and Marcel since 2016. Huebscher has also spent time in Los Angeles and Auckland with Saatchi & Saatchi.

Huebscher replaces Gary Dawson who departed the agency in July 2019.

Huebscher said: “I’m lucky to have found an amazing partner in Suzie and we share similar thoughts on what makes good creative work as well as a vision to what VCCP can be.”

Frew has also returned to Australia after 7 years in the UK, where he worked in client services at Ogilvy and Atomic London. At Ogilvy he was the lead on the British Airways account and co-chair of Ogilvy’s c-suite advisory, Sideboard.

He takes on the role following Kim Bush-Ellis’ departure for Woolworths in July as marketing manager of brand and communications.

Frew commented: “I’m thrilled to join the team at VCCP, working alongside a team of smart, driven and creative people. The challenger mentality in the agency is strong and particularly pertinent to the Australian market. I look forward to nurturing this culture and galvanising it to the benefit of our client’s businesses.”

Roberts, Frew and Huebscher will be working together with Kim Feitelberg, who has been executive planning director since 2017.

Roberts said it had been a journey to find the right people for the leadership team.

“It’s been a real journey finding the right fit for our agency, and in Scott I know we’ve found the right mix of creative firepower, strong leadership and drive for growth. I’m genuinely looking forward to working alongside him to see our creative product really challenge the Australian market,” she said.

“I’m also incredibly excited to have Will join our team with his exceptionable track record of leading integrated teams and building business through creative smarts.”
