Acclaimed Australian actor Vince Colosimo will star in a new local version of The Office, the smash hit comedy created by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. The series, which has been commissioned for 13 episodes by ABC1, will be the third incarnation of the show following the phenomenal success of the UK and US versions.
“This is complete bulls***,” said Vince Colosimo. “This is clearly just a shameless attention-grabbing exercise by The Chaser in a desperate attempt to draw attention to their press release.”
Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant have so far not commented on the Australian rumours, mostly because no one has asked them to. “But I would say this,” said Stephen Merchant. “I can confirm that The Chaser’s War on Everything is definitely returning to Australian screens on Wednesday 27 May at 9pm on ABC1.”
