Wargaming Asia appoints PPR

Online game developer and publisher Wargaming Asia has appointed Professional Public Relations (PPR), with the agency tasked with raising its profile amongst Australian gamers.

The announcement:

Ahead of PAX Australia 2014, Wargaming Asia, the award-winning online game developer and publisher and one of the leaders in the free-to-play MMO market, has engaged Professional Public Relations (PPR) to raise its profile amongst Australian gamers.

Creators of the team-based MMO war series World of Tanks and World of Warplanes, Wargaming Asia will showcase its latest game World of Warships locally for the first time at PAX, ahead of a general release in 2015.

Head of Marketing for Wargaming Asia, Jem Loh, said: “Australia is a key growth area for Wargaming and we know PPR’s understanding of the gaming community will help put us in a solid position ahead of the launch of World of Warships and also grow the number of local players across our gaming portfolio.”

PPR Sydney’s Director of Consumer Communications, Eileen Lorenzo-Togi, commented: “As one of the world’s most successful cross platform gaming publishers, we’re excited to be working with Wargaming as it gears up for its launch of World of Warships and their participation in PAX Australia.”

PAX Australia will be held in Melbourne, for the second consecutive year, between Friday, October 31 – Sunday, 2 November at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
