Wavemaker appoints Matt Hofmeyer to lead L’Oréal media account in ANZ

GroupM’s Wavemaker Melbourne has appointed Matt Hofmeyer as its client managing partner for the L’Oréal media account in Australia and New Zealand.

The role was previously held by Gabriela Stewart, who moved into a newly created role of client managing partner for a number of other accounts, including Jetstar, Australia Post, DoorDash, Honda, Tata and IG Markets.

Hofmeyer will lead the L’Oréal media team in ANZ

Hofmeyer moved within the agency from Wavemaker Hong Kong, where he was the managing director. Prior to that, he was managing director of the agency’s Adelaide division.

He will report to Melbourne managing director Daniel Isaac and Wavemaker ANZ CEO Peter Vogel.

Isaac said: “It’s an exciting time at Wavemaker Melbourne and we’re delighted to welcome Matt to our team as Gabriela takes on additional responsibility across our growing client base.

“I’m pleased that we are able to continue to invest in senior resources to help manage our ongoing success and growth in the Melbourne market, and I’m confident that in these two leaders we have the expertise, passion and proven credentials to positively provoke growth for our clients in increasingly challenging times.”

Hofmeyer added: “It’s great to be back in Australia and to be joining the exceptional Wavemaker L’Oréal team, an amazing group of people who are delivering really exciting work and driving brand growth.”

Wavemaker took over media agency duties for L’Oréal Australia and New Zealand in 2021.

In August 2022, the agency retained Mondelez’s account locally in a global pitch.
