In his new role, Pou will be working alongside managing director, Suzie Shaw, and head of strategy, Gerry Cyron. Pou will be leading the development of We Are Social’s creative vision, working with the editors, copywriters, art directors, videographers, photographers and designers across the business.

Pou joins after working with a variety of agencies across Europe and the US. Most recently, he was the executive creative director of Visyon in Barcelona. He has also worked with R/GA, Here Be Dragons and The Barbarian Group in New York, and Wieden and Kennedy in Amsterdam.

Pou has also been internationally recognised for his work, winning awards at Cannes, Clio, One Show, and New York Festivals.

Pou said of his appointment: “Creativity reigns in social. It’s a democratic and expressive playground where everyone’s invited. We see it around the world every day, every minute, every second. It’s fast and exciting, and there’s obviously room for brands. They just need to embrace the dynamic and fertile nature of social, instead of treating it as a mere additional channel for their ads. That’s why brands with a soul thrive in social.

“That’s also why I’m so excited about joining We Are Social, and Suzie’s team in particular. Nobody’s better equipped to partner with good brands to create genuine connections with their audience.”

Shaw said in a statement: “Edu really is a world-class creative leader with an incredible track record. This is the beginning of We Are Social’s most exciting chapter so far in Australia and I can’t wait to see what we can do with Edu at the creative helm.”
