Wendell Sailor to co-host The Sin Bin

Classic Rock has announced former rugby league player Wendell Sailor will co-present its new sports talk show The Sin Bin.

The announcement:

Former rugby league international Wendell Sailor will join Fox Sports presenter Ryan Phelan as co-host of new sports talk show, The Sin Bin, on Classic Rock 95.3FM.

The show will be broadcast live to Sydney audiences on Saturday mornings from March 5 from 8.00am – 10am and is a mix of serious rugby league news and analysis, exclusive player interviews and plenty of opinionated talk-back interaction

Not limited to rugby league, over the two hours Sailor and Phelan will spar on a variety of current topics from the wider world of sport with a level of no-holds-barred honesty, insight and humour rarely heard in the sports media.

“Wendell is one of the favourite sons of the NRL and is pretty close to the core,” says Phelan. “He knows a lot of the players and talks to them every week, so there’s a lot of first-hand knowledge there.

“I’m in the inner sanctum,” winks Sailor. “I’m a dual international – one of the greats of this country. But we’re not going to forget about the kids out there and are also focused on the grassroots of the game.”

Sailor certainly talks a good game, but he’s willing to listen too as callers are encouraged to share their opinions on the air.

“We’re bringing a lot of passion and enthusiasm to the show, but also interacting with the fans. We’re going to fire up the callers. This show is a voice for them,” he says.

According to David Borean, general manager, Classic Rock 95.3FM, the show is also an important step in the growth of the station:

“This is the first of some exciting developments Classic Rock 95.3FM has planned for the year. Of course, the station remains committed to its music position, but we know Sydneysiders are passionate about sport and The Sin Bin will be their source of the latest sports news and entertainment as they make their way to and from Saturday sporting events. Wendell and Ryan bring a wealth of first-hand sports experience to the show.”
