Dr Mumbo

What makes an NFT? And can I screenshot it?

With Mark Ritson making his somewhat sarcastic venture into the world of NFTs, Dr Mumbo is pleased to see Eaon Pritchard minting his own run of NFTs of NFTs of NFTs.

While Dr Mumbo is still mulling over Dr Mumbo’s own run of exclusive Mumbo Ape NFTs, Dr Mumbo feels confident that others are increasingly getting their beaks wet in this glamorous and lucrative world.

Pritchard, who is now head of communications at Moula, and a former strategy lead at UM and DentsuX took to LinkedIn with his new NFT, ‘Ritsonism_revisited’ after Ritson himself put an exclusive run up featuring photos of himself on the toilet.

With Ritson writing last week in Marketing Week that the Non Fungible Token trend sweeping the globe is but a “fad” for marketers, Dr Mumbo tends to agree that for now, he will stray away from purchasing what could end up being a worthless lump of gold.

So if Pritchard can mint his own NFT, which is a self-made screenshot of a screenshot, of a picture-turned into an NFT, how can Dr Mumbo differentiate screenshots from the real non-fungible items online?

If anyone can help him out, please drop through a line.
