Whybins tops effectiveness awards, winning titles of most effective agency and Grand Effie

Whybin\TBWA Sydney and Clemenger BBDO Sydney were the dominant agencies at Thursday night’s Australian Effie Awards.

Whybins won The Grand Effie for its “Car creation” campaign on behalf of NRMA Insurance. And the agency was also named Effective Agency of the Year based on its number of wins across separate campaigns including MJ Bale, Taronga Zoo and RaboDirect.

Clems picked up the most golds, thanks to its Hungry Jack’s Shake And Win app.

The awards, organised by The Communications Council, recognise campaigns which demonstrate effectiveness in delivering a return on the marketing investment.

The NRMA campaign from Whybins saw a working car built from the parts of vehicles that were not covered as standard by competitor insurance policies.

Matthew Melhuish, chairman of the Australian Effie Awards and CEO of Enero said: “This awards program is about recognising excellent strategic thinking and bold creative ideas that really pay off .”
