Wil Anderson and Charlie Clausen’s TOFOP podcast joins Planet Broadcasting roster
Comedian Wil Anderson and actor Charlie Clausen are to commercialise their cult TOFOP podcast after signing up with the Planet Broadcasting network.
TOFOP – Thirty Odd Foot Of Podcast – features the duo in unscripted freewheeling discussion. Anderson is best known as a standup comedian and presenter of TV show Gruen while Clausen recently completed a five year stint on Home And Away.
Planet Broadcasting helps independent podcasters commercialise their products through live reads integrated into the shows. According to the announcement, TOFOP’s first sponsor has been locked in, although the brand was not revealed.
TOFOP previously earned financial support through fan platform Patreon.
Planet Broadcasting, which is run by Melbourne podcasters, James Clement and Claire Tonti, has sponsor clients including Netflix, Audible, Squarespace, MVMT, Loot Crate and Casper.
As part of the partnership, Tofop will be added to Planet Broadcasting’s roster, alongside other Australian podcasts which cover pop culture, comedy, comic books, TV shows, films and documentaries.
Anderson and Clausen said in a press release: “Now we’re in the age of podcasts and we couldn’t be happier to be joining Planet Broadcasting where we hope an even bigger audience can discover what we truly believe is nothing for everybody.”
Clement and Tonti added: “We are so excited to have Wil and Charlie join our Planet Broadcasting team. TOFOP is such an excellent example of the way Australian audiences are engaging in large numbers with podcasts.”
