WIN Network to rejoin FreeTV Australia after three-year hiatus
The WIN regional television network will be rejoining FreeTV Australia, three years after pulling out the industry body following a dispute with other regional TV operators over supporting media law changes.
WIN’s move, effective from 9 March 2018, means all of Australia’s commercial TV operators will again be members of the industry group.
“I am delighted that WIN has decided to rejoin FreeTV. This means FreeTV once again represents 100% of commercial television broadcasters,” FreeTV chairman Harold Mitchell commented.
“We know we are much stronger together and with WIN back in the fold, FreeTV will continue to drive the important outcomes to ensure a strong future for us all.”
WIN Network boss Andrew Lancaster added: “We are very pleased to be back as a member of FreeTV. Commercial free-to-air television broadcasters are facing more challenges than ever before and it is important that we work together to ensure that all Australians continue to enjoy the free television services they rely on and value.”
Hi,im in Coffs Harbour I have tried to phone the local office and get an answering service I’m wondering if you are aware the WIN net work is down? NO there is nothing wrong with the TV signals as I have all the other channels,I’m not sure what time the signal was lost but I have been home now for the past 3hrs and still no signal,I really hope this is sorted soon.
