With Bert Newton, 20 To 01 just isn’t enough
As everyone knows, there’s no such thing as too much Bert Newton.
If Dr Mumbo had his way, 20 to 01 would be on every day, perhaps twice a night.
So he’s delighted to see from Nine’s industry email newsletter that the network has a brilliant plan for next week’s schedule.
Why stop at just 50 though? What’s wrong with 100 To 01?
I take it this is satire, Dr M? I mean, I like Bert as much as the next man, but 20 to 1 is diabolical television.

Bert’s fine, bless him.
It’s the other ‘cross promoting young celebs’ explaining events they have no apparent knowledge of, or interest in, that annoy me. Or am I just being a grouch?

20 – 1 according to who? A middle aged cyclist and 5 20 something year olds getting their ‘break’ into the TV industry.
Love Bert, however.

Get Bert off my TV. 20 to 01 is just another example of how the guys at Ch9 have no idea. Tomorrow’s success will never be made by the reserving of things that are clearly past their use-by-date. Wake up and invest in some new ideas and new talent before you become a thing of the past too.

I agree – get Bert of the my TV. C9 is slipping in the ratings and keeping Bert on is not the answer. He has had his day in the sun, find someone who is new and can deliver what aussies want on their TV, not just rehashes of the same old same old.

I agree: any Bert is too much on my TV. My fear is, though, that once he goes he’ll be replaced by a bunch of Gen-Ys whose parents worked in the industry and told them they’re entertaining/smart/original/etc. Ten’s got the right idea: less Baby Boomers, more Gen-Xers…
