The Works appointed lead creative for Tetley tea, replacing Clemenger BBDO Melbourne

Tetley LogoTata Global Beverages has appointed The Works as lead creative agency for the Tetley tea brand, replacing incumbent Clemenger BBDO Melbourne.

The appointment comes ahead of a marketing push in 2014 and was made following a competitive pitch involving three other agencies. Clemenger BBDO Melbourne declined to pitch.

Work on the account has already begun, with The Works to manage integrated brand communications and assist in new product development for Tetley.

Gale McLardie, marketing manager for Tetley said in a statement: “The Works impressed us with their thinking and focus on delivering work that drives results. We’re looking forward to working with them to further grow the Tetley brand.”

The Works’ other clients include Jim Beam Global, EnergyAustralia and NRMA Group.

Damian Pincus, creative partner and co-founder of The Works said in a statement: “The Tetley brand is in an exciting phase of its growth and it’s great to be working with a client who has such a great focus and ambition.

“Our ability to work across NPD, strategy, communication planning and creative, coupled with our focus on delivering sales results will be utilised by the Tetley team.”

Clemenger BBDO Melbourne had been behind the campaign in which a woman left her husband to make a cup of tea.
