The Works set to open Melbourne operation

RXP’s The Works has announced it will be opening a Melbourne office in a move to further build the Sydney agency’s presence in the city.

The creative agency was acquired by ASX-listed digital services consultancy RXP Services in August last year, with the aim of further engaging with its “consumers at a deeper and more personal level”.

The news of the expansion was announced at RXP’s Sydney Experience Hub launch on Tuesday night.

The Works’ new Melbourne office will be based at its parent company’s headquarters in Queen Street.

Ross Fielding, CEO at RXP, said the integration between both businesses is “progressing very well” and both company’s have “secured a number of opportunities to bring their strategic creativity, brand, CX and digital expertise to our existing clients”.

“As a result, expanding The Works’ operations to Melbourne makes sense and will continue to deliver benefits to RXP and our partners going forward,” Fielding added.

RXP currently has offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Hobart and Hong Kong.

Damian Pincus, creative partner and co-founder, added: “Like many successful Sydney agencies we’ve looked at opening in Melbourne many times, but the timing has never been quite right. It is a hugely important market and now with the backing of RXP, which is headquartered there, the opportunities for us are significantly increased.

“Our staff have been travelling to Melbourne regularly and that will continue as we build our presence on a more permanent basis.”

At the time of the $25m acquisition, co-founder of The Works, Damian Pincus said the deal was “less about money” and “more about succeeding”.
