WPP AUNZ launches program for graduates and new talent

WPP AUNZ has launched a 10-week program designed to draw diverse graduates and entry-level talent into the business.

The NextGen Leaders program will take participants through all disciplines of the advertising and marketing industry; media, PR, creative, experience, data and design, and connect participants to a network of WPP AUNZ leaders.

“I am really proud to be launching the NextGen Leaders program in Australia” says WPP AUNZ CEO, Jens Monsees. “A strong and highly skilled labor force is key to maintaining our global competitiveness.”

“… we want to welcome new talent into the industry and continue to strengthen and diversify our early talent pipelines.”

WPP AUNZ will work with local tertiary education partners, industry groups and diversity networks to attract people with varied educational and work experience for the program. The program is not limited to those with a tertiary degree.

The program will also give participants exposure to WPP AUNZ’s partners, including Google’s #IAmRemarkable and Allies in Recruiting.

The Media Federation of Australia (MFA) also runs a program focused on the industry’s newest members. Participation is open to staff of participating agencies, with less than five years of experience. WPP AUNZ agency Group M is one of the members.

“The NextGen Leaders program is part of our ongoing investment in future and emerging industry talent locally. Working collaboratively to deliver unique learning, growth and professional development opportunities to those looking to kick-start their career,” Monsees said.

“While also connecting them with leaders across agency brands and functions at WPP locally and across the world – who will share their experiences about what makes our company so special.”

“Participants will have a unique opportunity to learn about us and what creative transformation means for our clients, with an exclusive look into the roles of our people and the extraordinary work we create.”

Participants will earn a certificate of completion for the training via Coursera. They will also have the chance to secure a role within WPP AUNZ, if available, and all participants will be invited to join the alumni network.

Applications for the program close on April 30, 2021.

The on-demand program will run from June 7 to August 13, 2021 with a live workshop series (facilitated online) commencing in September.
