The X Factor grows as Ten’s shows vanish from the top 15

x factor mumbrellaSeven’s The X Factor dominated television viewing last night with over 1.6m viewers marking its highest Monday night audience for the season, while helping The Blacklist to an average of 1.297m viewers.

Meanwhile Channel Ten’s fast-tracked US import Homeland fell to 405,000 metro viewers for its third episode, its lowest rating of the series, according to OzTam’s preliminary overnight metro ratings. Homeland was 26th for the night, and 15th in people 25-54, Ten’s target demographic.

And Ten’s sport-focused panel show A League of Their Own, hosted by comedian Tommy Little, was fourth in the 7.30pm time and 28th for the night, with an average metro audience of just 344,000.

Ten finished the night with a metro share of just 9.2 per cent, dipping to 6.8 per cent in Brisbane and Adelaide. the network did not have a single show in the top 15 for the night.

The Big Bang Theory was Nine’s only entertainment show to rate more than 1m. Nine’s Big Brother had 856,000 viewers and was fifth in people 25-54.

Nine’s new episode of 2 Broke Girls won the 9.30pm time slot with 672,000 viewers across the five cities, followed by Q&A on ABC1 with 544,000.

Scandal on Channel Seven was third in that time slot and 23rd for the night with an audience of 440,000, while Blue Bloods on Ten averaged 216,000.

Channel Seven won the largest share of the audience last night – 25.7 per cent – while Channel Nine had 20.3 per cent, and ABC1 had a 14. 8 per cent share of the audience.

In the morning battle Sunrise was ahead of Today by  376,000 viewers to 291,000. The race was closer between Seven and Nine’s evening gameshows, won by Nine’s Hot Seat which rated 596,000 while Seven’s Million Dollar Minute had 527,000.
