Yahoo appoints new NSW sales lead from within

Yahoo Australia, formerly Verizon Media, has promoted Julia Edwards to NSW sales director. Edwards is currently head of strategic solutions. She replaces Clare Rudduck who will be leaving Yahoo after 12 years.

Since joining Yahoo 18-months ago, Edwards has been instrumental in building and commercialising Yahoo Creative Studios (formerly RYOT Studios).

In her new role, Edwards will be responsible for leading the Sydney-based sales team and growing strategic partnerships with clients and agencies in the market. She will report into general manager, sales ANZ Rachel Page.

Edwards brings to the role over 16 years of experience commercialising global media properties across all platforms, She’s held management roles at a number of publishers including The Guardian, CNN, MCN and Foxtel.

She has been behind a number of campaigns for RYOT Studios, including an immersive try-before-you-buy experience for Big W’s Toy Mania, virtual Santa campaign for Officeworks and bringing to life the Finding Our Heart children’s book for NAIDOC Week.

This is the latest in a string of senior promotions announced by Yahoo since Paul Sigaloff was appointed vice president of ANZ INSEA earlier this year. In addition to Edwards, Page was announced as general manager, sales ANZ, Simon Wheeler to senior director of content ANZ SEA, and Euan Black to director of content ANZ.

Yahoo’s marketer Anny Havercroft recently departed her position as director, brand innovation to join TikTok Australia to lead its business marketing.
