Yahoo!7 appoints Anita Perri to new strategy role
Yahoo7 has appointed the managing director of digital consultancy The Ad Lab Anita Perri to the role of director of strategy and business operations.
The company said Perri will be responsible for driving Yahoo7’s business strategy, with a particular focus on advertising initiatives. In the newly created role, she will be charged with evolving Yahoo7 content and advertising solutions to keep pace with the latest technology and media consumption trends.
Her appointment comes after the arrival of new CEO Ed Harrison earlier this year. Both Harrison and Perri have previously worked at Fairfax Media.
There are hopes within Seven West that Harrison will boost the fortunes of the company following a $61 million dollar write down in its value last year, the abrupt departure of former CEO Stu Sayers, and redundancies across its Total Travel site and the closure of its search marketing division.
Perri joins Yahoo7 with more than a decade of experience in digital advertising.
Harrison said: “I’m very pleased to welcome Anita to the Yahoo7 team as we continue to adapt to emerging trends and consumer habits online. Anita’s wealth of experience in online media will help us understand emerging trends and create new ways to leverage these opportunities for our customers”.
Perri joins the Yahoo7 team this week and will be based in the Sydney office.
Perri told Mumbrella that her new role would mean the end of Ad lab. She said: “Ad lab was just a consultancy I have been running basically while I have been on maternity leave and doing consulting to the market during that time.”
