Yahoo!7 appoints Appsnack head to lead mobile strategy and advertising
Yahoo!7 has appointed Venessa Hunt as its new head of mobile and advertising strategy to steer the company’s future in the growing mobile device market.
Hunt previously launched Appsnack, Exponential’s mobile division, in Australia where she was responsible for the company’s mobile advertising and content division. The move comes after Mumbrella revealed the publisher is looking to expand its cross-platform ad offering, with sales boss Paul Sigaloff suggesting a mobile ad exchange should be created by a consortium.
A spokesman for Appsnack said the company had been actively recruiting to fill Hunt’s role since she left to join Yahoo!7 late last month.
Hunt has also worked as a business development manager for Ninemsn, and was the head of production at Mobile Embrace, giving her a strong track record in the mobile product field.
A spokesman for Yahoo!7 told Mumbrella Hunt’s appointment would boost the company’s position in the mobile market.
“The appointment of Venessa Hunt as Mobile Strategy and Advertising Manager strengthens Yahoo7’s position in mobile advertising,” he said.
“Venessa joins the Strategic Integration team and brings a wealth of experience in mobile, she is responsible for implementing innovative ad formats and supporting the sales team with idea creation and integrated client responses”.
