Young girl learns the difference between financial ‘wants’ and ‘needs’ as CommBank pushes its education credentials

Commonwealth Bank has promoted its financial education program in an ad featuring a young girl learning about spending and saving.

The 30-second ad opens with a little girl saying “but it is my money” as she decides how to spend her pocket money.

“I guess it is your decision,” the dad says. “I want lollies and stickers,” the daughter responds.

The ad shows the father and daughter using the Commonwealth Bank app.

As the girl grows up she buys a car telling her dad it is not what she wants, it is what she needs.
