Rob Hudson has been announced as the new head of Y&R’s Brisbane operation, replacing Phil McDonald who left the role to become CEO of Y&R Group Australia and New Zealand.
Hudson led the agency’s digital and social teams, building the Cannes Lion-winning Melanoma Marketing campaign and was also heavily involved in the agency’s successful new business push.
“Rob is one of the most innovative thinkers in the industry,” McDonald said.
“He works closely with all our clients and creates a profound impact on the business.”
Y&R’s Brisbane has grown to become an important cog in the business, winning work for the Queensland Government, QBCC and Ardent Leisure/Dreamworld.
Hudson has been with the agency since 2006 after arriving from the UK and has spearheaded the agency’s digital strategy.
“Having led the digital work for the agency for over nine years, it’s incredibly exciting to now be stepping in to the managing director role,” said Hudson.
“I’m looking forward to continued development of our capabilities in order to drive our strategic and creative output.”
McDonald was named CEO last week after it was announced Jason Buckley had left the role.
