2UE brings in Sean Pickwell to boost sales strategy
Entertainment industry veteran Sean Pickwell has signed up as sales and marketing consultant to Fairfax’s Sydney talk radio station 2UE.
Pickwell, a former Austereo promotions director, will also continue to run his entertainment marketing company Waterfront Entertainment Marketing.
The move follows the appointment of former progam director John “Brenno” Brennan as program consultant.
2UE is a long way behind that of its Sydney talk rival 2GB with an audience share of 7.3 to 2GB’s 14.3% in the latest set of ratings, with another set to be released on Tuesday.
2UE’s GM Tim McDermott said “The addition of Sean to the 2UE team will be a great asset to this station. His ideas and strategies will ensure we continue the re-branding of 2UE to be the station in Sydney where listeners turn to for stimulating talk, engaging personalities and quite simply, the place ‘where you don’t miss a thing”.
Pickwell said: “2UE is on a roll with a great team passionate about being number one again,” said Pickwell. “Together we can build further to create amazing results for clients and exciting radio for listeners”
Pickwell recently negotiated the sponsorship deal for Optus with the national tour by “Pink” and again with “Rihanna”. Other clients include LG, the Federal Government, Visa and Supre.
