3rdspace welcomes new partner and executive creative director

Independent creative studio 3rdspace has officially appointed a new partner and executive creative director, Mumbrella can reveal.

UK native Rickie Marsden joins the agency full time after being brought in to collaborate on a recent campaign for The Kids’ Cancer Project.

Marsden moved to Sydney last year, and joins the agency after a freelancing stint.

Prior to that, he spent most of his career in agencies across the UK, including Purpose, TBWA, Atomic London, and more, where he worked on clients including the United Nations, Capital One, and Childline/NSPCC.

His work has won numerous industry awards for creativity and effectiveness, including the coveted Cannes Gold Lions and D&AD Yellow Pencil.

In the new role, Marsden will be responsible for reinvigorating 3rdspace’s creative offering, as the agency looks to creating greater positive impact moving into 2025.

“Rickie’s ability to tap into universal truths and deliver a compelling story meant our first piece of work together really hit home,” Rob Logan, founder and CEO of 3rdspace, told Mumbrella.

“From there it felt like a great opportunity to evolve and grow the 3rdpace offering and skill set with Rickie joining as a partner of the business and ECD.”

Marsden added: “I believe that great work comes from having an enemy, something to push against, and for me, that enemy is ‘good enough.’

“That’s what excited me about 3rdspace. Rob isn’t the type of founder to settle for good enough. We both want to make an impact for brands that do good in the world.

“The 3rdspace model of building bespoke teams for clients based on their needs speaks to me because we can bring in the best talent in the world, instead of who’s available in the building. They’ve been doing what other agencies will be doing in the future for years,” he concluded.
