We Are Social wins Audible’s social account

We Are Social has been assigned to audible.com.au’s social agency of record.

The appointment is the first time the Amazon-owned Audible has appointed a social agency in Australia.

We Are Social will create content, manage Audible’s social platforms and build its influencer program.

Suzie Shaw, We Are Social MD, said in a statement: “Globally, audiobooks are the fastest-growing format in the book business – in large part because they really complement our multi-tasking lifestyle.

“As a brand and category, it’s a fertile space for social. There’s a passionate fan base around the product and a steady stream of great content that stems from Audible’s many new releases,” Shaw said.

In recent days, Audible has promoted Matthew Gain to be head of APAC, 18 months after he joined the company to develop the business across Australia and New Zealand.

In May the platform launched a new audio series Listen to Love, which tackled love and marriage equality. To promote the launch, content agency Emotive and PR agency Poem created a marriage equality debate video featuring comedians Joel Creasey, Rhys Nicholson and Rosie Lourde.
