Audible promotes Matthew Gain to head of APAC

Audible has promoted Australia and New Zealand boss Matthew Gain, to head of Audible Asia Pacific.

The appointment comes 18 months after Gain joined Audible, where he became responsible for developing the business across Australia and New Zealand.

Prior to Audible, Gain spent nearly six years with Edelman, most recently as chief operating officer.

Since joining the Amazon-owned audio book service, the brand has launched its first TV campaign, as well as content campaigns by Emotive, inviting Australians to ‘Listen to your book’ and keep the love equality conversation alive.

According to his LinkedIn, Gain’s new role will involve growing the business across APAC countries, specifically Japan and India as well as Australia and New Zealand.

He will be responsible for implementing branding and growth plans and influencing change across key stakeholders. Gain will continue to report into Chris Cooper, executive vice president, international operations.

Commenting on his initial appointment at Audible, Gain said at the time: “The opportunity at Audible came up and I grabbed it. It was my own decision, it wasn’t forced upon me.

“It feels like the right time. The opportunity to work with Audible is phenomenal. It’s an interesting, fascinating business that’s growing and I wanted to be part of it.”
