The flop 100
So how influential is Sydney’s media and marketing community? Now very, if today’s Sydney magazine, from the SMH, is anything to go by. They publish their list of the city’s 100 most influential people. And there’s not an advertising or marketing type to be found.
Indeed, the only noteable exception is for the team behind The Gruen Transfer – Jon Casimir and Andrew Denton, who the magazine salutes as iconoclasts for bringing the world of advertising to the ABC.
And the only other media person? ABC TV boss Kim Dalton himself.
Tim Burrowes founded Mumbrella in 2008. He worked on Mumbrella until 2021. At various points he was editor, content director and editor-at-large.
