‘A significant hire for us’: QMS announces new national sales director for NZ

Ben Gibb can soon add QMS to his resume
Sky New Zealand’s Ben Gibb is set to join digital outdoor media giant QMS as its national sales director for New Zealand.
With the role coming into effect in January 2026, Gibb will be in charge of QMS’ NZ sales operations, including revenue growth, sales strategy and client partnerships. He will report to Tim Murphy, the company’s chief sales officer.
Gibb will bring over 20 years of experience in the out-of-home (OOH), magazine, digital and television industries to the role. Currently, he works as head of ad sales for NZ entertainment organisation Sky New Zealand — a position he’s held since August 2023. Prior to that, he was head of sales at Ooh Media in Auckland, and sales and marketing director at Street Furniture operator Adshel.
In addition to the above, Gibb filled agency sales manager roles at Yahoo and Bauer Media.
“Ben is a significant hire for us – in every way,” Murphy said in a media release.

“He’s one of the most respected operators in the New Zealand market and his experience, reputation and leadership will play a key role in building the QMS brand across our leading portfolio of assets including Auckland Transport’s four prized out of home concessions: vehicular based [transit] media, transport hubs, billboards and the newly appointed street furniture network.
Gibb is set to enter the business as it continues to integrate Mediaworks’ OOH offering into its operations. In September this year, QMS announced that it would be taking over Mediawork’s OOH arm. The transition began on October 1, 2025.
The move will allow Mediaworks to continue focusing on its content, digital and audio businesses.
“I’m thrilled to be joining QMS at such an exciting time for the business,” Gibb said in the release.
“The transition of MediaWorks’ OOH division to QMS represents a huge opportunity to reimagine the OOH market, servicing our customers with innovative and effective solutions across New Zealand’s largest and most diverse OOH network.”
His role comes into effect in January 2026.
