A very close race for Seven and Nine in Wednesday ratings

Seven and Nine have played a tight game this week in the overnight ratings, a battle which continued into Wednesday with a 0.1% difference between the two’s overall shares.

Seven Network won the night with a 27.1% share, while Nine followed closely behind with 27%. ABC secured an 18.8% share and Ten 16.7%.

However, Nine was the better-rated primary channel with 19.2%, and the top-rated multichannel was 10 Peach with 3.4%.

In entertainment, The Chase Australia was the top program with 580,000 metro viewers, followed by Utopia on ABC with 521,000.

A repeat of Travel Guides on Nine had 508,000 metro viewers, while 484,000 tuned in to Gruen on ABC.

Seven’s new documentary series Animals Aboard with Dr Harry pulled in 268,000 metro viewers.

Seven News was the #1 metro program of the night with 951,000 viewers.

In the latest Daily Consolidated 7 Total TV Report for 28 June, Seven News was the #1 program with a Total TV audience of 1.504 million, with a 4% uplift and 49,000 on national BVOD.

Queen of Oz on ABC had the biggest uplift of 109%, with a Total TV audience of 361,000 and a national BVOD audience of 57,000.
