AAMI, Ogilvy Australia back AFL fans with ‘Fansurance’ in latest campaign

Suncorp Group insurance brand AAMI is recognising the AFL-related woes felt by AFL fans in their latest campaign from Ogilvy Australia.

Building on AAMI’s major partnership with the AFL, the insurance provider is extending on its traditional insurance coverage for footy fans, recognising a lack of support for footy fans who’ve experienced a ‘clanger’ that damages their pride with the launch of ‘Fansurance’.

 

 

‘Fansurance’ is a competition that will help footy fans recover from footy related mishaps, like dropping a pie, shrinking their guernsey or going to the wrong stadium.

Mim Haysom, CMO Suncorp group, said: “We all know how integral footy fans are to the AFL, and as a major partner, we wanted to create a campaign that lets them know AAMI’s there to support them too, even if it’s only their pride that’s been damaged.”

Toby Gill, AAMI brand & marketing manager, said: “For a number of years now our ‘Clangers’ platform has allowed us to leverage AAMI’s AFL partnership in such a fun and contextual way, and Fansurance is another great extension of this.”

Launched in a one minute spot, the campaign depicts various dramatisations of footy fan fails, encouraging people to enter their own ‘clanger’ moments into the competition via the campaign website.

Fan submissions will go into the running to win tickets to the 2022 Toyota AFL Grand Final, as well as Clanger Credit Prepaid gift cards.

We all remember it happening to us and the embarrassment it caused. Thankfully now fans can recover with AAMI’s Fansurance.”

The campaign has launched nationally across major broadcast channels, with support from OOH, print, radio and social.
