ABC’s 7.30 interview with Yael Stone on alleged inappropriate behaviour by Geoffrey Rush pulls 547,000 viewers
In an interview with Australian actress and star in Orange is the New Black, Yael Stone, ABC’s 7.30 pulled in 547,000 metro viewers as the actress alleged Geoffrey Rush sent her sexually suggestive text messages.
According to OzTAM’s overnight preliminary metro ratings, the interview was the tenth most watched program for the evening.
ABC’s 7.30 beat Nine’s RBT which also aired at 7.30pm and managed a metro audience of 418,000 metro viewers.
Meanwhile, session three of Seven’s Cricket: Second Test Australia versus India was the most watched non-news program as it attracted 870,000 metro viewers.
Session three of the cricket was also the most program across key advertising demographics 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54.
Seven News at 6pm was the most watched program of the evening with 944,000 metro viewers tuning in compared to Nine News’ audience of 852,000.
Winning Monday’s TV ratings was Seven with an overall audience share of 21.5%, beating Nine’s 18%, ABC’s 14.1%, Ten’s 7.7% and SBS’ 3.4% share.
For the multi-channels, 7mate and 10 Bold were the most watched as they scored a 4.8% share.
Where is the proof? Did she remember correctly? This type of McCarthy journalism must stop. People are drawn to the salacious. But, this type of interview should not be presented when there is no way to verify. It makes interviews like these seem as if they are out to destroy. The timing is very suspicious.
