Adelaide radio ratings: Mix102.3 finishes on top for the year while FIVEaa’s decline continues

Mix102.3 finished the year on top of the Adelaide radio ratings despite a slight fall in the final GfK radio survey for 2018.

The station, which has led the city’s ratings all year, saw a 0.1 point drop in overall share to finish with 12.9% of the audience, beating out Nova91.9 which jumped 0.6 on the back of a strong drive result to take second place in the survey which ran from September 30 to December 8.

On the AM band, Cruise 1323 took third place in the survey with a 10.1% share, down 0.1 points from the last month while FIVEaa dropped below a 10% share with its fourth consecutive fall. The station now has a share of 9.9%, down from its peak of s with a 1.1 point drop taking it from its peak of 13.9% in survey five.

ABC Adelaide also suffered a drop on the AM band, with the national broadcaster’s local station falling 0.3 to 9.7% while Cruise held the lead.

Hit107 and 5MMM had some good news in reversing previous survey declines with jumps of 1.3 and 0.4 points respectively. Hit finished with a share of 9.4% while 5MMM had 9.3%.

Most of Hit107’s timeslots saw improvements, with the station’s breakfast show scoring a 2.1 point jump to a 7.8% share, reversing the last two month’s decline following the axing of the Amos, Cat and Angus breakfast show in September.

FIVEaa’s David Penberthy and Will Goodings lost their breakfast lead to ABC Adelaide with another drop of 1.2 points that saw them slump to 13.4%. The ABC’s Ali Clarke picked up 1.0 to take 14.4%.

Mix 102.3’s Jodie and Soda remained the top-rating FM breakfast show clawing back 0.4 points after their 0.8 point fall last survey with a 12.8% share of the audience.

In the drive slot, Nova’s Kate, Tim and Martin saw a 3.0 point jump to dominate the slot with 15.2% well ahead of rival Mix102.3 which fell 1.2 points to a share of 12.1%. Hit107 improved 1.3 points to take a 9.7% share.

Like the other timeslots FIVEaa fell 1.7 points to 7.9%, well behind AM rival Cruise1323 which took 9.1%.
