ABC’s Cleverman slides on second outing as Ten’s Masterchef wins the night

Masterchef was the most-watched show of Thursday evening as the second episode of ABC’s much talked about new supernatural drama Cleverman shed 122,000 metro viewers.

Cleverman, which aired at 9:30pm, pulled in 330,000 metro viewers down on last week’s debut audience of 452,000.

Earlier in the evening Ten’s Masterchef, which aired at 7:30pm, drew an audience of 1.041m to be the most-watched show across the key advertising demographics (16-39, 18-49 and 25-54).

On Nine, the NRL match between Brisbane Broncos and the Canberra Raiders pulled in 447,000 viewers across Sydney and Brisbane from 7:30pm.

On Seven, Highway Patrol which kicked off at 8pm grabbed 458,000 and Rush Hour at 8:30pm had 349,000 metro viewers.

Ten’s Shark Tank, airing at 8:40pm, was watched by 609,000 metro viewers and was the second most-watched show across all the key advertising demographics.

In the news battleground, Nine News at 6:00pm grabbed 1.016m, sliding to 928,000 from 6:30pm while Seven News at 6:00pm was watched by 996,000 slipping to 951,000 from 6:30pm.

In breakfast TV, Seven’s Sunrise was watched by 324,000 out-rating Nine’s Today Show which had an audience of 315,000.

Nine won the night with an audience share of 20.5% ahead of Ten which had a share of 17%. Seven claimed third place with a share of 14.9% while the ABC settled for a share of 12.4%.
