The announcement:

The Account Planning Group (APG) today announced the shortlist for this year’s APG Creative Strategy Awards.

An impressive 74 case studies across four categories have been shortlisted by a panel of stage one Judges. Finalists will go on to a second round of judging, led by Chairman of Judges Olly Taylor, vying for the Grand Prix and category prizes. Special awards including best insight, best approach to research, best use of data, best non-traditional idea and best under 50k budget will also be awarded at the Award night in October.

“Great strategic thinking is always important, but never more so than in difficult economic times. This year we have the largest number of finalists across a diverse range of products and services, many of which are of the highest quality. We’ll have to make some tough decisions next week,” said Olly Taylor, Chairman of Judges.”

This year sees the inclusion of the inaugural Strategic Agency of the Year award, judged by an independent panel of leading marketers and industry experts. This award recognises the contribution an agency can make to the development of excellence in strategic thinking and creative solutions for business challenges.

To coincide with the APG Awards a special workshop will be held with Dave Cobban, Citizen Mobilization Director, Nike Sustainable Business and Innovation on insights and ideas. Dave will also participate in the judging session for Strategic Agency of the Year.

The second round of Judging is taking place on 29 October. The Award night is planned for Wednesday 31 October.

The APG is powered by the Communications Council and the awards play a central role in the Council’s efforts to promote the value of marketing communications to clients and the broader business community. Besides the obvious chance of getting awarded for outstanding planning, entering the APG awards assists in educating the wider industry on the contribution strategic planning makes to great communications.

The awards are proudly sponsored by Sandy Oldham Consulting, BWM, Inspire Foundation, GFK Blue Moon, DDB and Digital Edge.

More information on the Awards can be found here. Tickets can be booked here.
