September 20, 2011 –

Leading brand and marketing insight consultancy, Added Value, part of STW Group, has evolved its management structure and created a new senior executive position to help build on recent growth and business momentum.

The new management structure will see current deputy-MD James Pike undertake the Managing Director role, effective immediately, to focus on continuing the company’s strong pattern of growth and team development.

And as part of a major push to further develop existing client relationships and build on recent new business success, existing MD Melissa Carey has been appointed to a new role; Client Development Director. Carey will also take on global responsibilities, working with Added Value’s Global team to develop new service offerings both in Australia and the region.

“These changes are really about evolving our business for the future, keeping it fresh and relevant and building on the momentum of growth that we’ve seen in recent years,” explained new MD, James Pike.

“Mel has done an incredible job in building the team and a market-leading service offering, and I’m excited about the prospect of taking the helm and continuing her strong success.”

Pike added that it was the first time Added Value had appointed someone into the Client Development Director role, which would allow “a singular and driven focus on delivering even stronger strategic thinking for our clients, becoming the best in the industry”.

Carey said she was looking forward to the new challenge, and the prospect of working closely with Added Value’s overseas offices to identify and develop new service offerings that would benefit clients in local markets.

“We already use our international network constantly, but this will bring a specific focus to identifying and developing the new and innovative service offerings that Added Value is renowned for,” she said. “For example, our recently evolved approach to brand positioning is helping our clients bridge the gap between their strategy and execution, something we know is a central business issue for our Australian clients.

“Teamed with my new focus on client relationships and team development, and James’ emphasis on growth, this new structure will help take the business into its next phase with enormous benefits likely to flow to both clients and our skilled team.”

Pike has worked with Added Value for the past seven years, initially in its UK office, and then in Japan before joining its Australian operations. Added Value’s Australian client list includes some of the country’s leading brands such as Nestle Purina, PepsiCo, Diageo, McDonalds, Kellogg’s, Lonely Planet and the Cancer Council.

Added Value will also move its team from its Sydney CBD office to St Leonards this week, joining other STW Group companies at Ogilvy House. Added Value is part of STW Group, Australia’s leading marketing content and communications services group.
