AFFINITY recruits new communications director from The Trade Desk

Full-service marketing agency, AFFINITY, has hired editorial content and communications expert, Emma Shepherd, for the role of communications director.

Shepherd steps into the agency after over one year of working at marketing technology company, The Trade Desk, as its editorial content manager for the Asia Pacific region. Prior to that, Shepherd occupied the roles of acting deputy editor and senior journalist at Mumbrella from May 2021 to December 2022.

She has also held journalistic and producing positions at Are Media and Yahoo.

At AFFINITY, Shepherd will be tasked with using her extensive expertise in storytelling, industry analysis, content creation, and communications to oversee and bolster the agency’s external reputation through a variety of activities, including managing OutThink newsletter production, website ghostwriting (for the agency), and executing thought leadership initiatives.

She will also be responsible for building the agency’s brand presence via social media management and public relations.

Shepherd’s hiring comes days after the agency was announced as being the only Australian organisation shortlisted for the IPA Effectiveness Awards 2024.
