AGDA and 72 and Sunny launch virtual talks series ‘Design Chats’
The Australian Graphic Design Association and creative agency 72 and Sunny Sydney have partnered to launch ‘Design Chats’ a series of virtual talks from some of Australia’s leading designers.
The announcement:
AGDA, the Australian Graphic Design Association, and 72 and Sunny Sydney have announced a creative partnership to inspire the new generation of creatives in Australia.
The partnership builds on the mission of 72 and Sunny to expand and diversify the creative class and AGDA’s core purpose of developing and championing the professional standing and creative excellence of the Australian design industry.
The first joint venture, Design Chats, is a series of creative sessions to inspire Australian designers by providing first hand exposure to international designers.
Presented as an informal conversation with some of the world’s leading creative and design minds, the first of the invite-only sessions kicks off on Thursday 11th June and features Josh Higgins, current Chief Creative Officer, Facebook AR/VR, who was the Design Director for the Obama Campaign in 2012.
Other speakers include:
- Deva Pardue, ex Creative Director, The Wing and Pentagram Design
- Simon Manchipp, Co-founder, SomeOne
- Carly Ayres, Community & Culture, Google Design
- Tim Belonax, Design Director, Pinterest
Tickets are free and available on pre-release from today for AGDA members, and will be available to the general public from Thursday 4th June. More info here
“The Australian design community is collaborative, hard-working and optimistic. This Design Chats series is a great way to help designers remain inspired and connected during these tough times – especially when human contact is so limited. Huge thanks to 72 and Sunny for partnering with us, and thanks to our line up of international designers who’ve been so willing to get involved.” said Brent Rice, Chairman, AGDA NSW.
“Having found a like-minded spirit and ambition for the wider Australian creative industry in AGDA, we’re stoked about our partnership and launching the Design Chats.” said Luke Martin, Head of Product, 72 and Sunny Sydney.
